The training in Kalamata was held from 27 to 31 of March 2023. It was focused on practical examples of using digital literacy tools. The goal of the activity was to facilitate the trainees in testing of the activities for the Web-app and improving their digital competence as well media literacy skills.

Dr Wolfgang Ressmann
We have tailored and fine-tuned the content of the programme by putting more accent on specific needs and expectations of the participants who leant how to shape innovative digital literacy workshops and integrate them into their daily work. Participants went through media content analysis cases that examine argumentation, specifically how social media intentionally or unintentionally create disinformation.

The goal was to see how people are influenced by news, especially, by disinformation and biased news. The interactive sessions allowed to examine how media consumers elaborate certain representation of objects, social groups or events.
There was an interactive session where participants explored various representations. By participating in an interactive ICT tasks, participants learnt how to promote active citizenship among youth. We have also addressed netiquette and safety issues online and how to overcome potential risks or disinformation.

The group met with local journalists, NGO workers and media activists as well as discussed how they can address the issue of digitalisation in their daily work. As a result, participants gained experience to work with digital literacy tools and integrate the learning outcomes into own training with young people in their organisations.
